New Traffic Management Arrangements at Scoil Chonglais
For the Attention of Parents, Students, and Visitors:
Construction of the new extension to Scoil Chonglais is now underway. As you will appreciate, this will require some changes to our routines and in particular, access/egress to the school.
These changes will come into effect from Wednesday 10th April 2013 at 7:00am until further notice.
All persons, and in particular parents, guardians and students, are requested to note the following:
- Only staff cars and construction-related traffic may enter/exit the school via the main entrance to the top car park.
- Cyclists and Pedestrians may not enter the school via the main school entrance to the top car park. All cyclists and pedestrian traffic must be through the lower car park and up the steps to the main entrance.
- Safe access to the school will be maintained by arranging a site hoarding to accommodate safety gates which will allow teachers/pupils to access classrooms and to have egress in case of emergency.
- The site compound will be located at the top of the car park adjacent to the playing fields.
- Only site personnel are allowed to access the site compound.
- A restricted speed limit of 20 kph will be in place at all times.
- Staff and students must travel to and from classrooms along designated temporary pathways where so indicated.
- Staff, pupils, parents/guardians, and visitors to the school must adhere to all safety notices.
- Access to the rear of the school will be curtailed during the period of construction.
- Priority in the lower car park is given to drop-off and pick-up of students by designated buses.
- Parking within the lower car park is restricted to staff of Co. Wicklow VEC, students, and visitors to Scoil Chonglais/Adult Learning Centre.
- Parents/Guardians wishing to drop-off students at Scoil Chonglais may do so on a ‘set down’ basis only in the lower car park.
- Parking/set down in the designated bus spaces is prohibited.
- No extended parking is permitted in the lower car park.
As you will appreciate, these measures are necessary to ensure the safety of students, staff, parents, and visitors to Scoil Chonglais and the Adult Learning Centre during the course of this project.
Your cooperation is appreciated.
